Get Involved

Friends of Seaweed Limestone Coast is a community group for people who care about coastal ecosystems, marine life, and the stories held in these places. Our work brings together citizen science, local knowledge, and collaborative stewardship to better understand and protect the Limestone Coast shoreline.

Walking the Seasons is one of several projects supported by the group. Across the year, Friends of Seaweed Limestone Coast members may take part in activities such as:

  • Seasonal monitoring of marine algae, coastal plants, and fauna

  • Contributing observations to iNaturalist and other citizen science platforms

  • Guided coastal walks and field days with scientists, Traditional Owners, and local experts

  • Learning about Traditional seasonal knowledge alongside western ecological monitoring

  • Supporting long-term care of coastal and marine environments through shared observation and data collection

You don’t need to be a scientist to be involved — curiosity, care, and willingness to learn are what matter most.

Whether you’re a regular beach walker, diver, photographer, student, or simply someone who loves the coast, there’s a place for you.

  • Join Friends of Seaweed Limestone Coast

  • Register your interest in citizen science activities

  • Stay connected for upcoming walks, workshops, and events

Together, we can build a deeper understanding of our coastline — season by season.
